Kids Get Money and Women in North East Network Awarded Grant
Empowering Young Women and Advancing Gender Equality in Victoria
North East Victoria, 23/06/2023 – In a groundbreaking effort to promote financial literacy and gender equality, two dynamic initiatives have been launched across Victoria. The "Everything Girls Need to Know About Money" program and the Investing in Women Grassroots Grant Program are set to empower young women and celebrate the invaluable contributions of women throughout the state.
Everything Girls Need to Know About Money Program
A collaborative project between the Women In North East (WINE) Network and Annette Rose, founder of Kids Get Money, this initiative aims to educate and empower young women in the North East region of Victoria with essential financial skills. Offering both in-person and online options across three local government areas, the program provides a supportive environment where young women can build financial confidence, enhance their overall well-being, and secure their economic futures. Emphasizing inclusivity and cultural diversity, the project is being marketed through the WINE Network's digital platforms and partner networks, ensuring a wide-reaching impact. Participant feedback will be carefully collected and analyzed to measure the program's success and continually refine its approach.
Investing in Women Grassroots Grant Program
In parallel, the Investing in Women Grassroots Grant Program seeks to support and empower Victorian women while driving progress toward gender equality. The grant program is designed to celebrate women's contributions, enhance cultural change, and improve key facets of community life in Victoria. Its vision is clear: a safe and equal society where every Victorian—regardless of gender—has equal access to power, resources, and opportunities, and where dignity, respect, and fairness prevail. The program will fund initiatives that foster cultural change, promote health and well-being, ensure safety and respect, and provide economic and material security.
